Craniosacral Therapy

Sara Pape offers craniosacral therapy.

CranioSacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It is a complementary method of whole-body work which addresses problem sources by working with the natural and unique rhythms of the different body systems. This gentle touch therapy helps to alleviate aches, pains, and stressors of life.

By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including: Migraine Headaches, Chronic Neck and Back Pain, Motor-Coordination Impairments, Colic, Autism, Central Nervous System Disorders, Orthopedic Problems, Concussions and Traumatic Brain Injuries, Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia, Spinal Cord Injuries, Scoliosis, Infantile Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Chronic Fatigue,

 Emotional Difficulties, Stress and Tension-Related Problems, Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders, Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ), Neurovascular or Immune Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Post-Surgical Dysfunction

Dry needling and Active Release Techniques

Sara also provides, Integrative Dry Needling (IDN) is technique utilizing thin, sterile filiform needles to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. The “integrative” approach to IDN considers the systemic neurological relationship of pain and tissue dysfunction as well as sensory nerve modulation and physiology.

The APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) states Dry Needling is a technique used to treat dysfunctions in skeletal muscle, fascia, and connective tissue, and, diminish persistent peripheral nociceptive input, and reduce or restore impairments of body structure and function leading to improved activity and participation.
